Shipping Policy & Important Clauses
At Birth Supplies Canada, we aim to provide fast, reliable, and transparent service. Please review the key policies below related to shipping timelines, courier selection, and exceptions.
Shipping Method = Transit Time (Not Processing Time)
The shipping method you select and pay for at checkout reflects courier transit time only—that is, how long the courier takes to deliver your parcel after it leaves our warehouse.
- Most orders ship within 24 hours, Monday–Friday
- However, our official policy allows up to 3 business days for processing and packing
- If we are unable to fulfill your order promptly, we will notify you so you can cancel or adjust your order as needed
Important Note About Displayed Timelines:
Shipping timelines shown during checkout (e.g. “1–3 business days” or “Next Day Delivery”) are estimates based on same-day shipment, and should not be interpreted as guaranteed delivery windows from time of order. These estimates are generated by the courier and only apply once your package is in transit.
Express Shipping?
When you pay for faster shipping (like Xpresspost or UPS Express), you are paying for courier service after shipment, not for same-day warehouse processing. Couriers like UPS and Canada Post guarantee these timelines once the parcel is in their hands.
If they miss that guarantee, we will file a claim to have the shipping fees refunded on your behalf.
Shipping Method Clause
While we aim to use your selected shipping method, we reserve the right to adjust couriers or timelines when necessary to improve delivery outcomes.
We may make adjustments if:
- The original courier is experiencing delays
- A pickup was missed or disrupted
- There's a postal strike or service disruption
- The order is time-sensitive, oversized, or multi-box
- Natural disasters or weather conditions affect transit
In such cases, we’ll select the most reliable method at no extra cost to you.
International Shipping
All international shipments are sent via Canada Post.
Qualifying Orders (Shipping Fees vs. Order Value)
We reserve the right to cancel orders where:
- Shipping fees exceed the value of the order
Example:
If you order a $5 item with $45 shipping, we may cancel and refund your order.
This protects both you and us from:
- Incomplete or incorrect addresses
- Unclaimed parcels
- Refused deliveries
- Items returned to sender (couriers often charge us again for returns)
Because our shipping fees are almost identical to what we’re charged, we cannot absorb these additional costs.
This risk is especially high for international shipments, which are more prone to customs delays or return-to-sender events.
Shipping Times Are Not Guaranteed
Once your parcel leaves our facility, it becomes the responsibility of the courier. Please note:
- We provide a tracking number with every order
- We cannot stop, reroute, or locate packages while in transit beyond what the courier allows
- If your delivery is delayed beyond the courier’s guaranteed timeframe, we will initiate a refund claim for the shipping fees
