How to Clean Feeding Tubes (Lactation Aid Use)

Our feeding tubes are sold as single-use sterile medical items. However, when used as part of a lactation aid—which is considered a clean (not sterile) procedure—many parents choose to clean and reuse them a few times.

⚠️ Important: We are not able to provide medical advice. Always consult your lactation consultant or healthcare provider for guidance specific to your situation.

Cleaning Tips (Based on Customer Feedback)

While not officially recommended as reusable, some customers have shared the following cleaning practices when using feeding tubes for lactation support:

    • Flush the tube after each use using a large syringe and warm water
    • Wash with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly
    • Optionally, sterilize as you would with bottles or breast pump parts (boiling water or steam sterilizer), if advised by your care provider
    • Allow the tube to fully dry between uses

    When to Replace the Tube

    • If the tube becomes discolouredcloudy, or stiff, it is generally a sign that it’s time to discard and replace it
    • Replacing the tube regularly helps maintain hygiene and function
